My condolences to Wayne's family for your loss.
I worked with Wayne at Motorola from 1989 up until his retirement and afterwards we communicated with Christmas cards every year until one of his daughters informed me he was no longer able to reply.
Wayne was a wonderful man who taught me a lot in my formative days at Motorola where I fabricated test equipment and assisted Wayne in troubleshooting. I have never met such a man who was never discouraged, upset or frustrated when some proposed fix didn't work. He would simply suggest trying something different as many times as it took until something worked. He was very dedicated and calmly persevered. He was extremely intelligent and a quiet, kind and caring soul.
Wayne also had a bit of a mischievous streak. On several occasions where I had my head buried in some piece of test gear where I was already a bit nervous working closely with high voltage, Wayne would quietly walk up behind me and loudly clap his hands, scaring the daylights out of me on several occasions. I was never mad and in fact we both shared a good laugh.
You will be missed my friend. Thank you for many years of friendship and stories.
Your friend Jeff
